Lightweight Specialized Aluminum Grilles and Dampers Made in America
Although AJ Manufacturing is known for our stainless steel commercial HVAC products, our aluminum offerings are excellent options for certain applications.
First, aluminum is lightweight. When compared to an identical component made of stainless steel, the aluminum version will weigh about one-third. Lightweight grilles and dampers put less stress and pressure on your vents and interior structure than stainless steel.
Aluminum performs well in environments with high humidity and condensation because it does not corrode when it comes in contact with water; it won’t develop rust like other metals because it does not contain iron. However, aluminum is more porous than other metals, so it is less ideal for clean rooms and critical environments than stainless steel return grilles and other commercial HVAC products.
Aluminum Component Assembly and Testing
AJ Manufacturing uses similar fabrication techniques on our aluminum filter grilles and return grilles as we do on our stainless steel options. Each of our products is made-to-order and hand-assembled to ensure quality and undergo testing before we ship them to our clients.

Our A-44 Opposed Blade Damper is made from T.055 T6 extruded aluminum construction for sturdiness and fits all AJ Manufacturing commercial HVAC products. It’s designed to evenly control airflow and clips in for easy installation – no screwdriver required.
A soft white mill finish blends seamlessly into drywall and other building materials. Sizes larger than 24” by 24” are made-to-order in multiples.
Aluminum Linear Bar Grille
Our Series 4900 .065 T6 extruded Aluminum Linear Bar Grilles and Registers are suitable for ceiling, sidewall, or sill installation. It’s reinforced pressure-lock honeycomb construction withstands foot traffic.
Our linear bar grilles are available in ⅓” pencil-proof and ½” spacing, available in lengths of 144” in one piece. Its core blades run parallel to the longest dimension, and end caps are staked and mitered for a smooth look. Aluminum linear bar grilles come standard with a satin anodized finish, with an available baked epoxy-polyester hybrid powder coat finish. Multiple-section assemblies come with alignment strips for easy installation.
